How to Make Different Types of Paper Airplanes Without Using Scissors or Tape

An imagination is the best toy that children can have to take advantage of during play time. When combined with different types of paper planes, children can imagine themselves flying throughout the sky. Airplane designs made without tape or excessive cutting with scissors are available to create with any piece of paper. For example, the glider and classic airplane are paper planes that are easy to build.

Instructions

  1. The Classic Airplane

    • 1

Fold the left side of the 8 1/2-by-11-inch paper on top of the other half. Create a rectangle shape by bringing the edges together.

    • 2

Fold the top left corner down to make a triangle shape on the left side of the rectangle.

    • 3

Fold the new fold once again to line both sides up with identical folds of equal size.

    • 4

Turn over the piece of paper and repeat Step 4.

    • 5

Hold the plane by the fold on the bottom with your hand towards the center. Lightly throw the plane to make it take flight.

    The Glider

    • 6

Fold the 8 1/2-by-11-inch sheet of paper in half by folding the left side over the right side. Open the paper back up to see the crease down the middle.

    • 7

Take the top of the paper and fold down the top 1/3 inch.

    • 8

Repeat Step 2 to create multiple folds in the paper until you folded three-eighths of the way down the paper.

    • 9

Fold the top left corner of the paper to meet the center crease. This fold will create a triangle shape. Fold the top right corner to the center crease to create a triangle on the right side as well.

    • 10

Fold the paper in half once again along the center line and turn the paper over on its side. Fold the left and right corners halfway down their respective sides of the paper plane. Grip the plane in the center and give it a light throw for flight.
