Things You'll Need
Instructions
Draw a straight line on the corrugated box that measures 5-1/2 inches. Measure 3/4 of an inch to the right of the line and make a dot. Next, draw another straight line through the dot and make the line parallel to the first. Make this line the same length as the first.
Connect the ends of the lines on one end with a semicircle. This is the nose of the plane. Connect the other end of the lines with a straight line.
Cut out the shape drawn on the cardboard. This makes the body of the glider stick.
Draw a right triangle on the flat cardboard. Make two sides measuring 3-1/2 inches and the long side measuring 5 inches. Next, cut the triangle in half. Cut from the mid point on the long side of the triangle in a straight line pointed toward the right angle.
Match up the cut sides of the triangles and then bend to create a line one third of the way up from the longest (cut) side.
Put glue on the bottom of the bent part of the triangle and then affix it to the body of the plane. Match up the triangle edges with the flat edge of the plane body.
Draw a rectangle on the flat cardboard that is 6-1/2 inches long and 1-1/2 inches wide. Cut the shape out of the box. These are the plane wings.
Starting 1-1/2 inches from the nose of the plane, draw a straight line on the body of the plane. Draw the line 1/4 of an inch from the top edge of the plane. Make the line 1-1/2 inches long.
Make a slit along the line with the box cutter. Do not make the slit any longer than the line.
Slide the plane wings into the slit carefully. Stop when there are equal portions of the wing jutting out from both sides of the plane body.
