How to Change the ParkZone Sukhoi Su-26M Propeller

Most RC airplanes use a nut to secure the propeller to the motor; this is not the case with the ParkZone Sukhoi. This mini RC stunt plane's propeller is screwed on to the prop shaft. Many ParkZone Sukhoi pilots opt to install a prop saver to reduce the number of times they need to follow this procedure. Removing the propeller and installing a new one requires a pair of pliers and a bit of patience.

Instructions

    • 1

Grab hold of the prop shaft close to the outer bell of the brushless motor, being careful not to place the jaws of the pliers on the threads.

    • 2

Hold the prop shaft securely and turn the propeller counter-clockwise to loosen. Expect the pliers to be in the way, thereby limiting the rotation of the prop.

    • 3

Loosen your grip on the prop shaft and rotate the motor clockwise a half turn and repeat the previous step until the prop has been removed.

    • 4

Installation is the opposite of removal. Check that the propeller dimensions (the width and pitch numbers) are facing away from the plane for proper alignment.
