Things You'll Need
Instructions
Bring a walkalong glider and paddle board to a large enclosed area with a large amount of open floor space. This could be a warehouse or even a large gym area. There should be no obstacles in the path of the glider. Clear the area of any obstructions. There should also be no fans or drafts coming in the area.
Hold the glider in the hand that you throw with and the paddle board in the other hand. Raise the glider over your head, with your arm fully extended, and ensure that the glider stays level with the nose facing out and away from you. Pitch and throw out the glider in a nose-down fashion so it can begin in a drop-like glide from your hand. It is more of a tossing motion. Throw lightly and without much force.
Hold the paddle board at opposite ends using both hands once the glider is tossed. Bring the paddle board up and behind the glider. Tilt the paddle board toward you and walk behind your glider swiftly. The paddle board provides a stream of air that will uplift the glider to keep it afloat in the air. Keep the board underneath your glider. If you pull the board down it will decrease the altitude of the glider; if it is pushed up it will increase the altitude.
To turn the glider, turn the board to the left or right slowly. Turns are not recommended unless correcting a flight path. Focus on keeping your glider in a level and straight forward flight for as long as possible. The board can be held at different distances and angles from the glider to make the glider go in different flight paths. Keep the paddle board underneath the glider at all times, and walk enough to keep up with the natural speed of the glider.
