Things You'll Need
Instructions
Open the FSX program. Go to the "Start" button on the main computer screen. Locate Microsoft Games in the list of programs. Select Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Open the program by clicking on the airplane icon.
The FSX main screen opens. Select "Free Flight" from the menu on the left.
Tab No. 1 on the screen displays a current default aircraft and offers a "Change" button to allow selection of a new aircraft.
Click the "Change" button. A "Select Aircraft" window opens. Three windows appear at the top of the screen for aircraft manufacturer, publisher and aircraft type. Select the "Aircraft Manufacturer" window by clicking on the check mark at the right side of the selection. A roll-down menu presents a number of aircraft manufacturers.
Use the elevator button to scroll down to "Grumman" and click it. A new window opens with seven optional aircraft available. All seven aircraft are variations of the Grumman G21A. Select one of the aircraft by clicking the version you want to fly. A blue border surrounds your selection. Go to the "Details" button at the bottom of the screen and click it. A window opens that allows you to change the tail number of the aircraft, the aircraft call sign and the flight number. Change those items as you wish, then click "OK." When the "Select Aircraft" window reopens, click "OK."
You have enabled the Grumman G21A successfully. Go to free flight and get behind the controls or take some lessons in flying float planes in the FSX Learning Center.
