How to Trim the Heli-Max Axe CP

The Heli-Max Axe CP is a remote-controlled radio helicopter that model aviation enthusiasts have recommended for beginners because it's relatively inexpensive and easy to fly. The original CP has been superseded by the similar but upgraded CPv3, but many of the original CPs are still in use. The e-board, or electronic control board, is factory set for optimal operating conditions, but you may find that you need to trim the tail rotor to keep the helicopter from drifting in one direction. You do this by adjusting the tail rotor trim screw.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the E-board at the right front of the helicopter cab; it has three small adjustment screws at the edge.

    • 2

Turn the screw at the bottom, the one farthest from the connecting wire, slightly clockwise to add right tail rotor trim, which keeps the helicopter from hovering too far to the left. Turn the screw slightly counter-clockwise if you need to stop your Axe CP from veering to the right.

    • 3

Test your helicopter to make sure the adjustment is sufficient to correct the problem.

    • 4

Repeat the process until you have the proper setting. You may have to reset the trim adjustment screw again if you operate your helicopter in windy conditions.
