Red
A red warning light on the annunciator panel or message on the EICAS is the most urgent warning and requires immediately response. It is usually accompanied by a horn, siren or a synthesized voice alerting the pilot to the emergency. An engine fire or a dangerous loss of pressurization in the aircraft are examples of the malfunctions that produce a red warning light or EICAS message.
Amber
An amber warning light on the annunciator panel or amber messages on the EICAS warn the pilot of a condition requiring timely attention. Amber caution lights include conditions which may become urgent if not addressed. Examples of an amber alert condition are an engine overheating or wing icing.
Green
Green lights on the annunciator panel or green messages on the EICAS are advisories. They notify the pilot that a particular system is in operation. These could refer to such functions as a landing gear that is down and locked or fuel heater in operation.
Blue Or White
These lowest-priority lights or messages usually indicate routine operating functions that have been completed, or verify the position of valves. Landing lights illuminated, hydraulic system pressurized and fuel transfer valve position are all examples of blue or white annunciator warning lights or EICAS messages.
