Quick Balance Mode
Connect the Equinox balancer to the LiPo battery via the balancing port. In this mode, the Equinox balancer will discharge each cell individually until all cells are at the same voltage. In quick balance mode, the battery pack is not charged, just balanced.
Look at the LEDs on the Equinox balancer and make sure it reports the correct number of cells in the pack. If the number of LEDs lit does not match the number of cells in the pack, disconnect the battery immediately and do not try to charge or balance the pack.
Press the mode button once to start the quick balance mode. While the Equinox balancer is running the LEDs may flash amber in an erratic fashion, this is the Equinox doing its work. When the pack is balanced, all LEDs will flash 5 times in unison.
Interface Mode
Connect the Equinox balancer to a LiPo battery charger using the attached banana clips. Make sure the polarity is correct before going any further. Connect the battery to the balancer using the correct adapter.
Look at the LEDs and make sure the balancer reports the correct number of cells in the pack. Do not try to balance a pack if the cell count does not match; this condition could damage the battery or cause a fire.
Press the mode button twice to start the interface mode. The battery pack is not being charged even though the Equinox LEDs are amber, you need to start your battery charger at this point. Unlike the quick balance function, the Equinox balancer will not give you any indication that the charge/balancing is complete; you must rely on your charger for that information
