How to Set Up Tips for Blade 400

The Blade 400 is a remote controlled (RC) helicopter. The Blade 400's sturdy build is designed to withstand light to moderate breezes, giving users more opportunities to fly the helicopter. The helicopter's digital servo and gyroscope allows even novice users to make advanced pitch and yaw maneuvers. Although the Blade 400 comes pre-assembled, there are still a few issues that need to be addressed before piloting its first flight.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the power supply's barrel connector into the power port on the left side of the charger. Plug the charger's power cable into the charger. Plug the connector end of the cable into the charger, and then plug the power plug into a power outlet.

    • 2

Plug the Blade's flight battery into the port on the right side of the charger. Charge the battery until all of its LED lights have turned solid red.

    • 3

Install four AA batteries into the Blade 400's transmitter. Slide the back cover off of the transmitter and then install the batteries. Replace the battery cover.

    • 4

Secure the battery to the front of the helicopter with the provided Velcro strips. Remove the film from the back of the Velcro strips to expose the adhesive. Place one strip along the length of the battery and place the other strip along the front of the battery.

    • 5

Attach the battery to the helicopter with Velcro. Secure the battery with the Velcro straps on the underside of the Blade 400 by wrapping the Velcro straps over the top of the battery.

    • 6

Disconnect the three power cables from the helicopter's motor, which is located on the underside of the unit. Switch the transmitter's throttle switch to "Off."

    • 7

Connect the battery to the power cable on the left side of the helicopter. Hold down the left joystick, and then set the throttle switch to "On." Wait for the gyroscope box's LED indicator light to power on.

    • 8

Practice with transmitter controls to get a feel for them. The blades won't turn, but you can get a feel for the helicopter's pitch and yaw movements. Slowly manipulate the controls, avoiding quick movements.

    • 9

Switch off the transmitter unit after you have practiced with the controls, and then set the throttle switch back to "Off." Reconnect the motor's power cables.
