How to Set Up V Pitch RC Airplanes

The ElectriFly V Pitch propeller has adjustable blades that change the flow of air over the prop and plane. This V adjustment allows for tighter aerobatic maneuvers when flying the radio controlled aircraft. By adding this prop, the RC airplane's range of movement is expanded, moving it further into the aerobatic realm. Different blade angles give different performance attributes to thew aircraft. Set up the prop based on your RC flying goals for the flight.

Instructions

    • 1

Tilt the prop blades so the angle is pointed to the back of the aircraft (this is the minimum blade pitch angle) if you desire an airflow over the fuselage for tight forward momentum with few tight turns or rolls. Tilt the blades only -- they are on a pivot that allows finger adjustments. Push them up or down and then set the lock pin -- a black plastic slider that keeps the blade in position.

    • 2

Tilt the prop blades for a forward pitch. This position increases the blade pitch angle in favor of aerobatic moves for your flight. This setting should be used when the throttle is peaked out and the aircraft is entering a negative roll.

    • 3

Bring the prop blades to the neutral position when you need to level the flight out and use the radio controlled trim. This is a handy setting for entering the plane into the ground effect for landings and take-offs. Pitch the blades so they are perpendicular to the fuselage.

    • 4

Adjust the throttle as you adjust the pitch of the blades. Adjust the throttle up when the blades are set for aerobatics and down when the blades are neutral.
