Things You'll Need
Instructions
Set out all the parts to the trainer kit on your work bench. Separate the kit pieces by region of the aircraft. For example, the main body, wings and empennage (tail assembly) will be pre-built but the wheels and propeller will most likely need assembly. Set the wheels and prop in their own sections.
Read the kit instructions at least twice before beginning any building. This helps give an overview of what to expect from the kit.
Assemble the landing gear and place it onto the trainer airplane before the prop. Many aircraft require the nose to be higher up for the propeller to fit and not hit the ground.
Install the propeller to the nose and engine of the trainer craft. Apply glue to small and intricate areas with toothpicks. Cut pieces from part frames with a scalpel or utility knife.
Set the FM frequency for the radio control box and aircraft. There is typically a switch or dial to coordinate between three different broadcast frequencies. If flying the aircraft with a group, wait to set the frequency until you are at the flying zone.
