How to Install Floats on a HobbyZone Super Cub

The HobbyZone Super Cub is designed to be easy to use right out of the box. The company markets the kit as being near "frustration free." Like the larger aircraft the scale model is built around, the RC Super Cub is a "bush" style aircraft and accepts floats or skis. Installing a set of floats on the Super Cub gives the RC aircraft the ability to take off and land on water.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the two floats and the two spreader bars for the floats on the work bench. Set the cross bars between the two floats.

    • 2

Place the spreader bars -- the bent wire cross bars -- into the spreader bar holes on the sides of the floats. This places the floats at the distance apart needed for the Super Cub.

    • 3

Pop the straight wire cross bars into the same holes as the bent spreader bars so they are straight across the floats and under the spreader bars. Pinch the two sets of bars together so they click and lock into the floats.

    • 4

Turn the Super Cub upside down and place the float spreader bars into the small cradles under the aircraft. Slide the lock clamps over the rounded center of the spreader bars so they lock the floats onto the bottom of the Cub. Tighten the eight set screws on the cradles to secure and lock the floats onto the Super Cub.
