E-Max Brushless Motor Specifications

The E Max Brushless Motor is a series of motors specifically designed for use in radio-controlled airplanes, with 12 different models. The lightweight design and high power output makes them ideal for use with both small foam-based craft, as well as larger craft. Knowing the specifications of the E Max Brushless Motors will allow you to gauge what they can handle.
  1. Spinning Shaft Diameter

    • The spinning shaft of the E Max models CF2822, BL2215, BL2210, BL2205 and CF2805 have a diameter of 3 mm (millimeters.) The spinning shaft of models BL2810, BL2815, BL2820 and BL2826 have a diameter of 5 mm. The spinning shaft of models BL4020, BL4030 have a diameter of 6 mm. The spinning shaft of model BL5335 has a diameter of 8 mm.

    Base Dimensions

    • For the CF2822 model, the dimension of the base, referred to as the "stator" is 22 mm by 10 mm. The motor itself weighs in at 39 g (grams.) The E Max CF2805 has a base of 22 by 10 mm. This motor weighs in at 29 g. The BL2205 has a base dimension of 28 by 22 mm and weighs 29 g. The model BL2210 has a base dimension of 28 by 27 mm and weighs 45 g. The BL2215 weighs 59 g and has dimensions of 28 by 32 mm. The BL2810 weighs 86 g and the dimensions are 38 by 32 mm. The BL2815 is 38 by 36 mm in dimension and weighs 112 g. The BL2820 is 38 by 42 mm and weighs 144 g. BL2826 weighs 182 g and is 38 by 48 mm in dimension. The BL4020 has dimensions of 40 by 20 mm and weighs 236 g. The BL4030 is 40 by 30 mm in dimension and weighs 325 g. Model BL5335 weighs 668 g and has dimensions of 53 by 36 mm.

    Model Capacities

    • Each motor has an ideal weight for the airplane model to be, in order to perform operation correctly. The recommended ideal weight for the E Max CF2822 is between 200 and 600 g. The CF2805 weight is between 200 and 300 g. The BL2205 can handle models weighing between 220 and 350 g. The BL2210 can handle models weighing between 220 and 350 g. The BL2215 can operate models weighing between 300 and 800 g. The BL2810 can handle 300 to 800 g models, as well. Model BL2815 can operate models between 1,000 and 1,400 g. Model BL2820 will operate models between 1,200 and 1,600 g. BL2826 can operate a model between 1,700 and 2,600 g. Model BL4020 can handle models weighing between 2,000 and 4,500 g. The BL4030 can handle models between 3,000 and 6,000 g. The BL5335 operates best on models weighing between 5,000 and 10,000 g.

    RPM's

    • The revolutions per minute for the CF2822 clocks in at 1,200. The model CF2805 has 2,840 rpm. The BL2205 has 1,780 rpm. The BL2210 has 1,500 rpm. 1,800 rpm is produced by model BL2215. BL2810 maxes its rpm out at 2,250. Models BL2815 and BL2820 both have a max rpm of 3,500. Models BL2826, BL4020 and BL4030 all max their rpm at 4,000. The rpm of the BL5335 max out at 7,600.

    Power

    • The number of cells that convert the electricity to usable power via a Lithium Poly based cell within the E Max models CF2822, CF2805 and BL2205 are two. For models BL2210, BL2215 and BL2810, the number of cells are three. Models BL2815, BL2820 and BL2826 have four cells. BL4020 and BL4030 have seven cells. The model BL5335 has 10 cells. The maximum efficiency current refers to how well the motor converts the battery power to usable power, and is between seven on the lesser CF2822 model to 16 on the BL5335 model.

    Other

    • The internal electrical resistance refers to how easily the electricity is utilized by the machine; it is 150 megaohms, regardless of the model. The efficiency of the motors are all 82 percent. The recommended propellers, that do not include a gearbox, to use with the motors are "APC 6X4," "APC 7X4," "APC 8X3.8," "APC 9X4.5" and "APC 10X5."
