How to Charge the Batteries for the Trex RC 450 With an ESC

Charging the battery on a T-Rex 450 RC helicopter can only be done with a Li-Po, or Lithium Polymer, battery charger. The Li-Po battery packs used in the T-Rex can vary slightly. All T-Rex battery packs are made up of three batteries (cells) stacked and connected together. The difference is in the mAh, or milliampere-hour, value. The mAh can be thought of as the gas tank of the battery, the larger the mAh rating the longer the battery will last. Li-Po chargers of competing brands can be very different so you may need to refer to the manual of your charger to learn how to navigate through its settings.

     Adjust the setting for the number of cells to three.

     Adjust the setting for voltage to 11.1 volts.

     Find the mAh rating printed on the label of your battery pack. Adjust the mAh setting on your charger to at or just below the mAh rating on your battery. If your battery is 2100mAh and the charger's closest settings are 2000 and 2200, use the 2000 setting.

     Push the start button and start the charging. Most chargers will alert you when the charge is complete with either a green light or a series of beeps.
