How to Measure Pushrods on RC Planes

Pushrods in a remote controlled (RC) plane connect the servo arm to the control horn. Pushrods must be properly installed for the motor to operate; if the pushrods are out of alignment, the wires of the receiver that control the plane will not transfer the motor's commands. Measure the length of your pushrod with a ruler to ensure it never causes your RC plane to stop working.

Instructions

    • 1

Find the RC plane's pushrod -- the thin, circular piece of metal that connects the servo arm to the control horn on the plane's frame.

    • 2

Use your ruler to measure the push rod's length from one tip to the other.

    • 3

Measure the length of the rod's curve, located at its top end.

    • 4

Measure the length of the rod curve's end circle; this is the rod's width.

    • 5

Measure the short, horizontal length that connects the rod's curve to its straight length; this is the rod's height.
