Teledyne Continental Engine Specifications

The Continental IO--360 is an air cooled, horizontally opposed engine that has six fuel-injected cylinders and is rated at 210 brake horsepower. Its maximum rated revolutions per minute is 2800.
  1. Displacement

    • The IO--360 has a displacement of 360 inches. It has a 4.4-inch diameter bore along with a 3.875-inch stroke. The engine weighs roughly 330 pounds without any accessories, and is 22 inches high, 31 inches wide and 34 inches long.

    Lubrication System

    • During idle, the normal operating oil pressure is 10 pounds per square inch while during operation the oil pressure has a range between 30 and 60 pounds per square inch. During take off the oil must reach a minimum temperature of 75°F with a maximum allowable temperature during any flight condition of 240°F.

    Operating Temperatures

    • The maximum cylinder head temperature recommendation is set at 380°F. The maximum cylinder head temperature for any flight condition is set at 460°F.
