Thunder Tiger Mini Titan E325 Building Tips

The Thunder Tiger Mini Titan E325 is a high-precision radio-controlled (RC) helicopter. To call it a "toy" is a misnomer, since it is, in fact, a small-scale machine. Just like a large helicopter, it has full rotor control, and is able to hover and turn. It is a complex machine to build and fly, so a person must have patience and tenacity when building one.
  1. Master Soldering

    • It is to your advantage to be proficient in soldering. The Tiger Mini Titan has myriad electronic components, and sooner or later, you will have to solder them. For example, you may inadvertently break a wire during assembly, requiring a soldering repair job. Obtain a 20-watt soldering iron and flux core solder made for micro electronic work, and practice soldering on some scrap wire. Soldering is a developed skill, only acquired through practice.

    Make a Pre-Flight Checklist

    • Tiger Aircraft recommends you perform a pre-flight check of all systems before flying. This includes testing all electronic systems for proper operation. Another area to check is the battery; make sure it's fully charged before flying. Also, check the correct mechanical functioning of all components, to ensure there's no binding or breakage of components.

    Keep a Proper Work Area

    • You must have a proper work area in order to assemble the Tiger Mini Titan helicopter. The workspace should be pet-free, as cats especially love to play with small objects. Your work area must also be well-lit, since many parts are minuscule, and hard to see in a dimly-lit area. On your work table or bench, spread out a large white towel, so parts do not roll around, but rather stay in place.

    Follow the Manual

    • Follow the manual closely for the assembly sequence. Since the design engineers of the aircraft also wrote the manual, it is to your advantage not to jump around. Rather, follow the manual page by page.

    Use the Proper Tools

    • You must have tools on hand to assemble the helicopter. This includes common hand tools like needle nose pliers, wire nippers, and epoxy glue. To go a step further, you should have a complete tool set, which includes a small hammer, a small knife, and a soldering iron and electronic solder.

    Inspect Contents

    • When you receive the box containing the helicopter, inspect the contents. Thunder Tiger Aircraft provides a list of contents for the box. Compare your parts with the parts on the contents list. If any parts are broken or missing, Thunder Tiger will replace the parts that are missing.
