Honda Jet Specifications

The HondaJet is a new venture of the Honda corporation, which is taking the company's engineering expertise and applying it to aviation. The plane is a joint venture with GE, who is providing the engines. This is first foray into this competitive market for both companies.
  1. Dimensions

    • The HondaJet has a height of 13.21 feet with landing gear deployed, a length of 41.70 feet and a wingspan of 39.87 feet, The cabin has an interior height of 4.94 feet, a length of 17.80 feet from bulkhead to bulkhead, and a width of 5 feet from pressure wall to pressure wall. Currently, the only modifications are for an air taxi and a business jet but both models keep the same dimensions, internally and externally.

    Capacities

    • The HondaJet takes a crew of two -- a pilot and a copilot, and can carry six passengers. Passenger capacity decreases if room is taken up with executive cabin options, such as rotating and reclining seats, TV and media bays. The HondaJet has a combined cargo capacity of 66 cubic feet, with space split between the nose and cargo hold. However, the nose cargo hold is intended for the planes tool kit and spare parts. The pilot's cabin is outfitted with a full glass cockpit from Garmin.

    Performance

    • Two GE-Honda HF120 jet turbines, housed in over-the-wing engine pods, power the HondaJet. This configuration enables a cruising sped of 420 knots and a maximum service ceiling of 43,100 feet. The HondaJet has a max range of 1,400 nautical miles and has a maximum climb rate of 3,990 feet per minute. Minimum take off runway needed is 3,120 feet and the plane needs 2,500 feet to land.
