Kitfox Airplane Specifications

Kitfox Aircraft has built aircraft kits for amateur builders since 1984. Kitfox makes kits for the sport pilot license and for private pilots. All specifications are for the Kitfox Classic IV, the most popular model.

  1. Wing Specifications

    • The wing span is 32 feet with a wing area of 132 square feet. The wings will fold parallel to the fuselage for ease of towing and storing.

    Airframe Length and Width

    • Length is 18 feet 5 inches with wings extended, 21 feet 6 inches wings folded. Airframe width with wings folded is 7 feet 10 inches. Cabin width is 39 inches.

    Weights

    • The maximum takeoff weight is 1200 lbs. Empty weight is 650 lbs.( fuel not included). Useful load is 550 lbs.

    Performance

    • The Classic IV uses 250 feet on its takeoff roll as well as its landing roll. Its maximum climb rate is 1200 feet per minute. The never-exceed speed is 127 mph. Cruise speed is 110 mph and stall speed is 37 mph.
