Materials
Model airplane kits supply the raw materials required to construct a plane. The plane cockpit, fuselage, propeller and wings are often made of balsa wood; these should be glued together with model glue. Model glue dries quickly and is stronger than regular glue, which improves the durability of your airplane.
Paint
After the plane's body is complete, you'll need to apply paint. Model paints and brushes are usually sold separately. Oil-based enamel paints take longer to dry, but are glossier than fast-drying acrylics. Some model builders favor small paintbrushes, while others use airbrushing to evenly coat the airplane.
Decals
Kits often include decals to apply to the model airplane; these are necessary if you want to add specific details to your model. Your decals should be put on after the paint is completely dry. Hobby shops and craft stores often stock additional decals if you are searching for something particular to add to your model.
