Instructions
Remove the old rubber bands. Hold the model airplane in place with one hand, and with the other hand, remove each rubber band from the posts on the airplane's fuselage (body), being careful not to let them snap.
Count the number of rubber bands as a reference for how many new ones you will need. If the old rubber bands disintegrate as they come off, they have been in service much too long.
Inspect the airplane wings and fuselage. Check the wing and the rubber band posts on the fuselage for any cracks, dents or structural deficiencies. Remember that these components must support the airplane in flight
Determine the proper amount of new rubber bands. Use the same number that you took off the airplane, or at least two rubber bands per 1 lb. of weight. Always use an even number of rubber bands.
Install the new rubber bands. Hold the model and wing in place with one hand, and with the other hand, stretch the rubber bands between the posts to hold the wing in place. Put the rubber bands on evenly in pairs, one on each side.
Lock the rubber bands in place with the last pair. You should stretch the last pair of rubber bands diagonally between the posts so that they make an "X" across the wing. This will keep any rubber bands from slipping off of the posts.
