How to build a model airplane from a kit
Spread an old newspaper over your work surface to keep it from getting ruined. Lay out all parts from your model airplane kit on newspaper and verify that all the parts are included. Locate your model airplane assembly instructions. Scan over the instructions to get an overall idea of how the plane fits together and the steps that you will take to assemble it.
Locate all the pieces you will need for Step 1 of your assembly instructions, and move the other pieces out of the way. Follow the procedures in the assembly instructions, moving to each step and locating the pieces needed as you complete the previous step.
Place decals on the model airplane after you have finished assembling the parts. If the model kit calls for painting of any parts, tape around the parts to be painted with masking tape. Once the paint is completely dry, remove the masking tape.
Scan the assembly instructions once more to make sure you have not missed any steps. You should not have any extra parts unless they are included for replacements.
Congratulations. You have completed your own model airplane from a kit. From now on, the sky is the limit.
