Instructions
Look online at websites, such as eBay.com or try aircraft specific sites like eaa.org and ultralights.com to get an idea of what you are looking for in an ultralight.
Decide if you want a manufactured, used or build-it-yourself kit. There are many inexpensive, used ultralights available as well as high-quality-new kits.
Find an ultralight instructor at a nearby airport or through a local ultralight enthusiast's club. Use them as a resource.
Inspect used ultralights before purchasing, also, have the engine inspected by a certified, independent aircraft technician.
Take the aircraft for a test flight to ensure that it is comfortable and manageable to fly.
Enjoy your new aircraft and remember to maintain it mechanically.
