How to Remove the Line Leveler on a Penn 330 GT

The Penn 330 GT is a level wind reel with a graphite frame and steel pinion. You can tinker with the reel to remove the line leveler.

     Loosen the drag knob by turning counterclockwise.

     Unscrew the locknut attached to the bail arm.

   • 3

     Unscrew the screws holding down the plate. Remove the plate and the washers.

   • 4

     Slide out the handle nut, and remove the pawl cap.

   • 5

     Pull out the line leveler, or pry it loose with the screwdriver.
