Things You'll Need
Instructions
First, take the cardboard box and fill it with pine shavings. You should have 1-2 inches of it on the ground. Please note that you may have to change litter daily, but only if you have a lot of chicks.
Next, take the light and place it where the tempature is about 95 degrees. Place it in a corner, and not the middle. You don't have to have a thermometer to tell how hot it is. You can observe the way the chicks act. If they are panting and staying away from the light, it is too hot. If they huddle under the light, it's too cold.
You must always have fresh food and water available. They eat and drink a lot.
After they have feathered out, tie a small wooden stick so it is hanging about 4 inches above the ground. Don't place it directly under the light.
