How to Make a Pigeon Sound With One's Hands

If you want to imitate the sound of a pigeon there is no need to buy a fancy whistle. You can make a pigeon sound using your own two hands. This is useful when hunting and trapping pigeons, as well as bird watching. Follow these steps to learn how to make a pigeon sound using your hands.

Instructions

    • 1

Lift your dominant hand so that your fingers point upwards. Hold the fingers together until they feel strained. Do the exact same thing with the opposite hand.

    • 2

Place the pinkie finger of your dominant hand on the pointer finger of your non-dominant hand. This will make an intersecting line if looked at from above.

    • 3

Wrap the thumb of your dominant hand over the thumb of your non-dominant hand and press your palms together. When your hands are in this position you shouldn't get any air in them.

    • 4

Make a small gap by opening your thumb slightly. It should be about a 1/2-inch in width and shifted slightly towards your don-dominant hand. If the gap is too large you will not be able to make a pigeon sound.

    • 5

Lay your lip on top of your thumb. Narrow the gap a little more and blow downwards to make a pigeon sound. It will take several attempts to accomplish an actual pigeon sound.
