  Start by reviewing FCC test prep sites online. Many test prep sites, such as QRZ.com, provide free practice tests that use material actually found in the FCC examination. In addition, some of these test sites have now developed apps for iPhone, iPad, or Android devices.

  Check the shelves at the local bookstore. Most bookstores, such as Barnes and Noble, have a complete section of test prep books. Most also have numerous other ham radio and commercial FCC books available for sale. These books are reasonably priced and are written by experts in the field with years of experience.

  Take test preparation classes. Some colleges offer traditional classes for test preparation, which span days or even weeks. Others offer correspondence-based or even online classes. These classes do cost money, though, and sometimes the textbooks are an additional cost.
