How to Program a Realistic 80-Channel Pro-2030 Model 20.407 Scanner

The Pro-2030 hand-held scanner accepts frequencies by direct programming or by picking up an active frequency, storing it temporarily in one of ten monitor memories and also storing it in a scanning memory location if desired. It also allows programming by banks, where frequencies stored in adjacent ten-memory locations (such as "1" to "10" or "11" to "20") can be enabled or disabled for scanning together. A scanner user can program frequencies for a specific purpose in a bank and enable them when desired.

    • 1

Turn the volume up to about one-third, and adjust the squelch to remove the hissing sound in preparation for scanning.

    • 2

Press "PGM," then press "LIMIT" to program the lower scanning limit.

    • 3

Enter the frequency for the lower scanning limit.

    • 4

Press "ENTER," and "LIMIT" to enter the upper scanning limit.

    • 5

Enter the upper scanning limit frequency and press "ENTER."

    • 6

Press the up or down "arrow" buttons to scan up or down the frequency range.

    • 7

Press "MON" while listening to an active frequency to store it in temporary memory.

    Storing Temporarily Saved Frequencies

    • 8

Press "MAN," "MON," and a monitor channel number from "1" to "10" to locate the monitor channel with the frequency to store. Note the channel number and choose a scanning channel number for storing the frequency.

    • 9

Press "MAN," enter the scanning channel which will receive the temporarily stored monitor frequency and press "PGM."

    • 10

Press "MON" and the monitor memory number from "1" to "10" which contains the frequency to store.

    • 11

Press "ENTER" to store the frequency in a scanning memory.

    Programming Known Frequencies to Watch

    • 12

Press "MAN," then enter a channel number for programming, such as "11" for the beginning of the second bank.

    • 13

Press "PGM" to enter the programming mode, which will be shown as "PROGRAM" on the display.

    • 14
