How to Troubleshoot a Uniden Washington

The Uniden Washington Citizens Band Transceiver Radio is a 40-channel single sideband base station that includes an analog RF meter and digital channel indicator. The problems you may encounter while using this device are that the transceiver may not operate properly and you may experience trouble receiving. Troubleshoot these problems by checking the fuse and power cord, adjusting the squelch and making sure the coaxial cable line is connected and corrosion-free.

Instructions

    • 1

Check the fuse and power cord if the transceiver is not operating completely. Make sure you use an AC power source when connecting the AC power cord and do not connect the device to a DC power source.

    • 2

Inspect the "On/Off Volume Control" setting if you experience trouble with receiving. Make sure the squelch control is properly adjusted and make sure the radio is not over squelched. Adjust the squelch control by turning it clockwise until you hear a click. Do not turn it too far. Turn the "RF Gain" control all the way clockwise. Make sure the radio is in operational mode.

Make sure the coaxial cable transmission line is connected securely to the Antenna connector. Ensure the antenna is extended fully for it to work properly. Make sure all coaxial cable transmission lines are corrosion-free and are secure.
