Unscrew the screws located on the back panel of the radio. Remove the panel to expose the inside.
Attach the appropriate cushion (supplied with the VGS-1 unit) to the top surface of the VGS-1. There are five total cushions supplied with the VGS-1, varied in sizes. The cushions help support the unit after installation to prevent warping and rattling, as well as eliminate interference. Use the cushion that fits between the VGS-1 unit and the adjacent transceiver wall.
Attach the appropriate cushion to the circuit board of the VGS-1. Use the cushion that fits between the circuit board of the VGS-1 and the adjacent transceiver wall.
Insert the VGS-1 unit into the voice guide connector in the transceiver. Press down on the VGS-1 with your hand to snap the unit into place. No solder is needed.
Replace the back panel of the radio and secure by screwing the screws back into place.
