How to Reset a Yaesu FT-100

The Yaesu FT-100 is a transceiver, which you use to transmit and receive signals in all amateur radio bands. It works at home, getting power from an electrical outlet, or when mounted in a vehicle for mobile use, getting power from the vehicle's battery. Use it to search for frequencies with interesting broadcasts, and when you find ones you like, you can save them to the memory bank. If the Yaesu FT-100 experiences a problem, or if you want to erase all the settings, you can easily reset it.

Instructions

  Press the "Pwr" button and hold it for a half-second to turn on the FT-100. It is designed to be held briefly so that you don't accidentally turn it on or off by bumping the button.

  Press the "VFO/MR" button on the front panel once to switch it to variable frequency oscillator (VFO) mode. Pressing the "VFO/MR" button again sets it to "MR" (memory) mode. When it is in "MR" mode, the "Mem" icon will appear in the display.

  Press the "Pwr" button and hold it for a half-second to turn off the FT-100.

  Press the "A," "B," and "C" buttons simultaneously and hold them while pressing the "Pwr" button for a half-second to turn on the FT-100, and then release all the buttons.

  Press the "Func" button for a half-second. This will bring up the menu.

  Turn the "Select" knob clockwise until you see "F01" to F59" in the display.

  Press the "Pwr" button and hold it for a half-second to turn off the FT-100.

  Press the "Pwr" button and hold it for a half-second to turn the FT-100 back on. It is now reset.
