How to Reset a Uniden BCD996T

The BCD996T is a digital scanner made by Uniden that lets you listen to radio transmissions used by a variety of groups, including police and fire departments, paramedics, government agencies, private companies, military units, ambulance companies and amateur radio services. It also picks up NOAA weather transmissions and frequencies used by railroads and military and civilian aircraft. You can save frequencies in the scanner's memory for future monitoring. To delete all saved frequencies, you can easily reset the Uniden BCD996T back to the factory default settings.

Instructions

    • 1

Rotate the "Power/Vol" knob left to turn off the scanner.

    • 2

Press the "2," "9" and "Hold" keys simultaneously and hold them.

    • 3

Rotate the "Power/Vol" knob right to turn the scanner on while continuing to hold the keys. The display will read, "Restore Preprogram List? Yes=E/No=."

    • 4

Press the "." key. The scanner will then reset itself back to the factory default settings.
