Making A Basic FM Antenna From Wire
Find a location in the home where the antenna can be easily moved or hung in a good position.
Strip approximately 1 inch of the insulating plastic from one end of the 300 Ohm twinlead wire. This end will be attached to the FM receiver.
Attach the stripped end of the 300 Ohm twinlead wire to the FM receiver. Some FM receivers have a push-button clip system while others require a screwdriver to pinch the metal and make a contact. The point on the back of the receiver should be clearly labeled.
Turn on the FM receiver and try to pick up a radio station even if it is static or unclear. From this point move the antenna until the reception on the radio station improves.
Hang the 300 Ohm twinlead wire in the position which provides the best clarity of sound using electrical tape.
