Instructions for a Lionel Tinseltown Train

The Lionel Tinseltown train set is made specifically for modeling beginners. The Tinseltown set is designed to complement a Christmas tree. The train has a holiday motif, with each car decorated in a holiday style to match the red engine. The train set includes the engine, cars, track and the equipment to run the set.

Instructions

  Connect four curved track pieces to create a half circle. On both ends of the half circle, add two straight track pieces. Use the remaining four curved track pieces and four straight track pieces to repeat these steps are make another half circle. Connect the two sections to build an oval track.

  Attach the Lockon piece to the underside of one of the straight track pieces. The Lockon component should snap to the underside of the rail easily. Fit the center lip of the Lockon piece to the edge of the rail, making sure it is facing out. Insert the controller wire, attached to the controller, to the Lockon piece by inserting the bare wire into the Lockon's spring clip.

  Place the locomotive and all train cars on the track -- making sure the wheels are on the track. Connect the cars to the main engine by coupling them together. Plug the controller into a wall outlet to give the track electricity. A 9-volt battery in the boxcar powers the train's 12 Christmas carols.
