How to Troubleshoot a Yerf Dog Cadet GY6-T

The idea of a go-kart being a pedal-powered hobby of a child is an outdated one; indeed go-karting has become a popular pastime for people of all ages -- and it's little wonder given the power that is packed into vehicles like the Yerf Dog Cadet. Yet, the thrills will quickly go missing if you suffer from the faults that can occur with these machines, ranging from engine misfires to fouled fuel.

Instructions

    • 1

Check the spark plugs if you are having consistent issues with engine misfires. Look under the hood for and examine the spark plug for a fouled condition. If necessary, replace it to solve the problem.

    • 2

Deflate the tires slightly in the common event that they have been overinflated. Often, manufacturers of tires will overinflate the tires for a tight seal to check the pressure -- it should not be above 40 pounds per square inch (PSI). Let some air out if necessary.

    • 3

Visually inspect the mounting bolts around your engine if the vehicle is suffering from excess vibration. This could mean the bolts are loose or even missing; in which case you should tighten or replace, as required.

    • 4

Clear the air intake filter if you are constantly low on power. Check the air intake for an obstruction or general dirt and debris, and clean it out if it is clearly blocked.

    • 5

Replace the gasoline in your tank if you are still having problems with power. It could indicate fouled fuel or a lack of lubrication. Fresh fuel may remedy the issue.
