Other Formats
The Nook and Nook Color are also capable of opening and displaying comic book archive (CBZ) and PDF-formatted e-books. The e-book readers are compatible with B&N digital rights management, non-DRM, Adobe DRM, TXT, DOC, DOCX and DOCM-formatted e-books. The Nook is not capable of opening other e-book formats unless you convert the non-supported format to an e-book format that is compatible with the Nook.
Library
Nook-supported e-books are stored in both the reader̵7;s Library and Daily Shelf on the reader̵7;s Home screen. This applies to e-books you purchase directly from Barnes & Noble as well as publications you purchase or download for free from third-party e-book providers. Third-party providers carry both free and commercial e-books, digital magazines and newspapers.
Nook HD
Like the Nook and the Nook Color, the Nook HD is also compatible with ePub, PagePerfect, CBZ, PDF, B&N DRM, non-DRM, Adobe DRM, TXT, DOC, DOCX and DOCM-formatted e-books. The Nook HD is also compatible with e-book file formats that the Nook and Nook Color are not compatible with including FOLIO, DRP, ePIB, OFIP and RTF-formatted e-books.
Plug-ins
You don̵7;t need any additional plug-ins to open compatible e-book formats on your Nook, Nook Color or Nook HD. Just select the e-book you want from Barnes & Noble or third-party provider, complete the purchase or selection process and download the e-book. You can download e-books directly to your Nook, Nook or Nook HD or download the content to your computer and transfer the content to your Nook via the reader̵7;s USB cable.
