How to Install the Knight M4 RAS

Knight̵7;s Armament Co.'s M4 Carbine rail adaptor system handguard, or RAS, converts AR-15 and M-16 carbines with military specification modular weapon system setups. The KAC M4 RAS is crafted from aircraft-grade aluminum, aluminum heat shields and installs without specialized gunsmithing tools. Benefits of the M4 RAS include increased accuracy and T-markings that facilitate the introduction of accessories, such as bipods.

Instructions

  Position the AR-15 in a safe direction away from populated areas. Engage the safety. Push the magazine catch button and remove the magazine.

  Grasp the delta ring assembly and pull it to the AR-15̵7;s buttstock in the rear of the breech mechanism.

  Position the AR-15 vertically with the barrel facing up. Pull the ring at the base of the original handguard toward the receiver. Disconnect the AR-15̵7;s original handguard by pulling the concentric ring down. Pull the original handguard downward and away from the barrel. Set the original handguard aside.

  Disconnect the front sight from the AR-15. The disconnection method varies among manufacturers; consult your instruction manual for specific instructions. Alternatively, you can request a gunsmith mill it off.

  Grasp the delta ring and move towards the barrel. Slide the Knight M4 RMS handguard forward until it meets the delta ring. Release the delta ring to secure the M4 handguard.
- 6
  Install the front sight per manufacturer̵7;s instructions. If you employed a gunsmith to mill it off, request the gunsmith reinstall the front sight.
