How to Wire a Yokogawa CS-3000

The Yokogawa CS-3000 is a production control system found in a manufacturing plant where a human interface system, or HIS, is needed. Wiring your CS-3000 requires connecting the unit to a power supply and attaching the communication modules. To do this you will need to use a dedicated power supply to connect the CS-3000 to establish communication capabilities with your network infrastructure.

    • 1

Locate the ̶0;Power A̶1; and ̶0;Power B̶1; connectors on the back of your Yokogawa CS-3000. You will see ̶0;-̶1; and ̶0;+̶1; screw terminals on the connectors. Loosen the screw terminals on the ̶0;Power A̶1; connector with the flat-head screwdriver.

Attach the positive wire from your power supply to the ̶0;+̶1; screw terminal. Tighten the screw terminal to secure the wire. Attach the negative wire from the power supply to the "-" screw terminal.

    • 3

Connect a second set of positive and negative wire from your power supply to the ̶0;-̶1;and ̶0;+̶1; terminals on the CS-3000. Attach a ground wire to the ̶0;Ground̶1; terminal on the backplate and to the ground that is on the enclosure for the unit.

Locate the ̶0;Host 1A̶1; and ̶0;Host 1B̶1; connectors on the back of the CS-3000. Connect a AKB336 cable to each of the connectors. Secure the cables to each connector by turning the screws that are at the ends of each cable. This will connect the CS-3000 to the control unit.

Turn on the CS-3000 and view the LED indicator lights. A green light indicates that the unit is working properly. If you see a red light it indicates a fault and you will need to recheck the ground and electrical wire connections.
