How to Glue Coins to Make a Poster

Coins have educational value, allowing young students to learn about money by touching and feeling the actual currency. Demonstrations using coins can be difficult if you don't use strong paper surfaces. Poster board allows an assortment of coins to be viewed at the same time. It's especially useful in presentations and for visual learners.

  • Coins
  • Wood glue
  • Poster board
  • Pencil
  • Markers

Instructions

      Lay the poster board on a flat surface

      Draw any illustrations or graphics and write any text that you wish to add to the poster board, presumably for a class presentation.

      Draw rough circles the size of the coins for the locations you intend to place the coins.

      Lay out the coins on a flat surface, with the side you intend to present facing down.

      Dab wood glue to one side of the coin, one coin at a time.

      Place the coin on the poster board, making sure it sticks to the board without moving or streaking. Test this by flipping the poster board so that the coin is facing down. Either the glue or gravity will win.

      Glue and place the coins one at a time until the poster is complete.
