Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove the battery cover for the remote, take out the batteries from the device and set them aside. You will see the selector switch for the remote between the slots for the batteries.
Separate the two halves of the remote by using the flathead screwdriver. Position the screwdriver tip at top where the round ring is located and gently pry. This will expose the circuit board.
Take the circuit board out of the remote casing so the switches on the bottom of the remote do not come loose. To do this, lift the board straight up and then out of the casing. The contacts for the selector switch can be seen at the middle on the back of the board.
Locate the axial slide switch near the selector slot that is above the contacts. Bend the ends of the axial slide switch with the needle-nosed pliers. One end needs to point toward the battery side of the casing and the other toward the backside.
Solder the end of the axial slide switch to the square shaped contact with the soldering iron. Solder the other end of the switch to the rectangular shaped contact. Cut excess material from the switch using the wire cutters.
Take the existing selector switch out of the casing of the remote. Set the circuit board back into the half of the remote with the buttons. The round dial should be making contact with the contacts on the circuit board.
Place the batteries back in the remote and close the two halves. Program the remote for the lighting that you want to control. Tilt the remote up to control the first set of lights and down to control the other set.
