Place a plastic tarp on the floor. Place the four-wheeled cart face down on the tarp. Rotate the cart so that one end is facing you. Unscrew the nuts on the two wheels on the end of the cart facing. Remove the screws from the underside of each wheel. Pull the wheels off the cart and place them, the nuts and screws to the side.
Place the 2-by-4 that is the same length as the end of the cart horizontally so that it covers both of the holes. Drill a hole through the center of the 2-by-4 and through the cart with the electric drill.
Place a washer on the bolt. Run the bolt through the hole just made in the underside of the cart and out of the hole in the 2-by-4. Place a washer over the end of the bolt and up against the 2-by-4. Screw a nut over the bolt. Stop screwing when the nut runs up against the washer. Tighten the nut with the adjustable wrench. Repeat this procedure with another nut.
Measure an inch in from each end of the 2-by-4 and make a dot with a pencil. Drill a hole through the 2-by-4 with the electric drill. Place a wheel over each hole. Run a screw through the hole on each end of the underside of the 2-by-4. Rotate a nut over each of the screws until it meets the hole on the wood. Tighten each nut with the adjustable wrench.
Turn the cart over. Rotate the cart so that the end with with the 2-by-4 attached to it is farthest from you. Staple an end of the two rope pieces to each of the 2-by-4. Apply bonding glue over the ends of the rope. Let the glue set overnight.
Fold a bath towel in half. Place the towel in the cart at the end closest to you. Place your homemade Go-Kart at the end of your driveway facing the garage. Sit on the towel. Place your two feet against the other end of the cart in a bent position.
Grab the end of the rope on the left side of the cart in your left hand the end of the rope on the right side in your right hand. Have an assistant give the cart a push as you steer it using the two ropes.
