Supplies
When face painting, only use professional-quality water-based makeup. Do not use enamel-based or acrylic-based paints, because these materials can irritate human skin or cause an allergic reaction. To paint a dalmatian on a child̵7;s face, purchase red, black and white paints. Obtain a small paintbrush and a sponge to apply the paint.
Base
Use a sponge to apply a thin layer of white paint to the child̵7;s face. Cover most of the face, but stop at the top of the forehead, the edge of the cheeks and the bottom of the chin cleft. To apply the base, move the sponge in a circular motion. Take care not to get paint in the child's eyes.
Tongue
Apply red paint with a brush to create a dalmatian tongue that hangs down one side of the child̵7;s mouth. The background of the tongue should take an oval form with wavy edges. First use a thin brush to paint in the edges, then use a wider brush to fill in the middle. Use black paint to make a line down the middle of the tongue to represent the cleft of the tongue.
Spots
The remainder of the dalmatian face pattern requires black paint and a brush. Paint a wide, round patch around the child's eye. Cover the eyebrow over his other eye with black paint to form a stripe, and paint the end of the child̵7;s nose to represent a spot. Add round dalmatian spots around the face as desired.
Muzzle
To make your design more realistic, paint whiskers on the face by painting two curved lines that stretch from each side of the child̵7;s mouth and almost reach his nose. Add a triangle above and black dots around the child̵7;s upper lip to complete the muzzle pattern and finish off the dalmatian face-painting design.
