Place a plastic tarp on the floor. Expand each of the three legs of the tripod outward. Stand the tripod on the tarp. Loosen the side tab that controls the vertical pole. Raise the pole so that the platform on the top of the tripod is even with your chest. Tighten the side tab.
Grip the mounting screw on the platform with the jaws of a pliers. Twist the pliers to break the screw off and dispose of it in the trash.
Place the desk top music stand face down on the tarp. Apply bonding glue to the bottom of the stand. Apply bonding glue to the platform at the top of the tripod.
Hold the music stand right side up with the extruded end facing you. Place the stand on the platform and press down. Hold the stand against the platform for 2 minutes before letting go. Let the glue set overnight.
Place your homemade podium speech stand in the area where the speaker will be using it. Loosen each of the locking tabs on the legs of the tripod. Pull out each leg from the tripod halfway. Tighten the locking tabs.
Stand the speaker in front of the stand. Turn the tripod so that the extruded end of the stand facing him or her. Loosen the side tab and raise the vertical pole so that the tab is even with the person̵7;s breastbone. Tighten the tab.
Place the speech on the stand. Place a spirit level on the top edge of the stand horizontally. Loosen the locking tab of the leg to the left of the level. Push the leg in until the bubble on the level is between the two imprinted lines. Tighten the locking tab.
Place the spirit level on the top edge so that one end is facing the speaker. Loosen the locking tab beneath the platform. Push the platform forward or back until the bubble on the level is between the two imprinted lines. Tighten the tab.
