Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove the existing RC car body. The plastic body shell is typically secured to the car frame with screws. Turn the car upside down and remove the screws with a screw gun. Some models use nuts and bolts, so use a socket wrench if these are present. The screws or bolts are located where the body meets the frame, around the perimeter of the vehicle.
Replace the RC car's lights with special colored lights or high-intensity lights. Unscrew the old light bulbs from the sockets on the front of the vehicle's frame and screw in the replacement lights.
Install the new RC car body by screwing it onto the frame. The body shell attaches to the underside of the car's frame with screws or nuts and bolts. Align the screw or bolt holes in the body shell with the holes in the frame and insert the screws or nuts and bolts.
Wipe down the exterior of the new body shell with cotton pads soaked with rubbing alcohol and allow it to air dry.
Adhere the body decals to the new body shell. Some decals are designed for the hood, the doors, the fenders or the roof. Place the decals in an appealing location.
Remove the screws that run through the center of each rim to remove the rims and tires.
Switch the tires onto new rims, put new tires on your existing rims or switch out the rims and tires. The plastic tires pop on and off the rims with relatively little force. Wide tires with low-profile tread offer better road handling, whereas tires with a deep tread are ideal for sand, gravel and off-roading.
Replace the rims and tires on the brushless RC's axles. Run a screw through the center of each rim and into the axle.
