Things You'll Need
Instructions
Clean all fittings where the tubing will attach to the pump. Use soapy water and a soft cloth to clean the fittings.
Plug the opening of the tube that will not connect to the motor. This will help keep the tubes clean during installation. Use pieces of soft cloth for the plugs.
Fit the ends of the tubes into the appropriate fittings. The location and number of these fittings will vary by motor. You can tell which pumps should have tubing by running the motor and watching the openings. If hydraulic fluid escapes from the holes, then the joint requires a tube. Tighten the connection with a wrench.
Remove the plug from the other side of the tubes. Fit these tube ends over the ends of the machine connected to the hydraulic system, such as wheels, a mechanical arm or other unit. Tighten the connections with a wrench as before. Make sure there are no kinks or twists in the line that will obstruct the fluid flow.
Add any pins, ties or clamps around the hydraulic cables to protect them when the motor is in use.
Fill the hydraulic tank with hydraulic fluid to keep the motor and cables well-lubricated.
