How to Make Elevator Servos Go in the Same Direction With the DX8

Many hobbyists enjoy flying remote control aircrafts, such as helicopters or airplanes. In fact, remote control transmitter manufacturers have designed extremely detailed controllers for adjusting the aircraft's motors during flight. A Spektrum DX8 transmitter can be programmed to operate in a variety of modes, regulating the speed and direction of the aircraft. Accessing the function settings will help a hobbyist program the elevator, or forward, servo motors to move in the same direction during flying practice.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the DX8 transmitter on. Wait until the main screen appears on the front panel.

    • 2

Press the roller button on the transmitter's right hand side. It should flank the main screen's edge. A function list should appear across the main screen.

    • 3

Spin the roller until it settles on the term "Servo Setup." Press the roller button again to access the servo menu.

    • 4

Find the channel number on the servo menu that corresponds to the channel currently communicating with the remote control aircraft. The DX8 has eight channels to choose from. Spin the roller until it centers on the correct channel called "Elevator." Press the roller button to choose that specific channel.

    • 5

Spin the roller button until it reaches the numerical values below the "Elevator" channel. Move the two stick adjusters on the DX8 until both the numerical values reflect 100 percent. Press the roller button again to confirm the change.

    • 6

Test the aircraft's functions by controlling it with the DX8. Confirm that the elevator, or forward, controls operate in the same direction during flight.
