Instructions
Place the shoebox horizontally on a table. Measure the length of the shoebox with a ruler and make a dot at the halfway mark on its side. Cut vertically through the shoebox at the halfway mark with a utility knife. Dispose of one of the cut halves.
Rotate the cut half so that the open side is facing right. Place the shoebox lid on top of the cut half. Fold the lid that overlaps the right side down. Tape the right side of the lid to the right side of the cut half with strips of duct tape.
Raise the left end of the lid straight up. Put wadded newspaper into the cut half. Place the jewelry, money or other small objects that you want to conceal in your safe in a plastic poly-bag. Seal the top of the bag with the self-sealing tabs or, if there are no tabs, with strips of duct tape. Place the bag inside the cut half and put wadded newspaper on top of it. Close the lid and secure the left side to the cut half with strips of duct tape.
Apply bonding glue to the top of the lid at the center. Apply bonding glue to the back of the flat magnet at its corners and center. Press the glued side of the flat magnet against the glue on the lid. Hold the magnet against the lid for 2 minutes before letting go. Let the glue set overnight.
Push the refrigerator away from the wall. Clean the floor behind the refrigerator with water-moistened paper towels to pick up the loose dirt, dust balls and other contaminants.
Hold the safe you have built so that the lid is facing the back of the refrigerator. Press the lid against the refrigerator so that the magnet takes hold. Push the refrigerator back but not all the way so that there is room for your safe. Clean the floor around the refrigerator with water-moistened paper towels to pick up the loose dirt, dust balls and other contaminants.
