Instructions
Place a sheet of newspaper on a table. Place the picture frame face down on the newspaper. Insert the tip of a flat-edged jeweler̵7;s screwdriver into a tab on the back cover and push it up or down. Repeat this procedure with all of the other tabs on the back of the picture frame. If the tabs can be maneuvered with your fingers, do not use the screwdriver.
Lift the back cover off the picture frame and place it aside. Remove the paper photo insert. Wipe the glass inside the picture frame with a soft cloth to remove any loose dust. Blow a burst of compressed air against the glass.
Pour 2 ounces of red colored sand into the picture frame. Repeat this procedure with blue colored sand, green colored sand and magenta colored sand. Pour 1/2 ounce of black colored sand into the picture frame. Smooth the sand so that it is even on the glass with your fingers.
Place the back cover on the picture frame and move the tabs so that they are in the position they were earlier. Apply a line of silicone sealant paste along the seams of the back cover where it meets the picture frame. Let the paste set for two hours and then apply another line.
Turn the picture frame over. Apply a line of silicone sealant paste along the seam inside the picture frame where it meets the glass. Smooth down the paste with an end of a wooden crafts stick. Apply another line of paste after two hours has gone by. Doodle designs on the paste with the red, green and blue permanent ink markers.
Hold the picture frame vertically and admire the art created by the mixing colored sand. Rotate the frame 180 degrees. Let the sand stop shifting before you admire the new art that has been created.
