Instructions
Measure the width of the threads of the eye bolt with the tape measure. Note this measurement, such as one-quarter of an inch.
Attach a one-quarter-inch drill bit to the chuck of the power drill. Drill a 1 1/2-inch deep hole into the top of your sphere. This can be a spherical prop of a globe, planet or other type of heavy sphere that you want to display.
Fill the hole with epoxy. Insert the eye bolt into the hole and turn counterclockwise to tighten. Allow at least 4 hours for the epoxy to dry.
Place the bracket for the pulley on a rafter on the ceiling. Mark the location of the mounting holes with the pencil. Drill pilot holes into the rafter.
Align the mounting holes on the bracket with the pilot holes in the rafter. Secure the pulley to the rafter with screws using the power drill.
Position the rope into the grooves of the pulley. Tie one end of the rope onto the snap hook. Attach the snap hook onto the eye bolt on the sphere.
Pull on the other end of the rope to hoist the sphere into the air. Tie the end of the rope onto an anchor when the sphere has reached the required height.
