Things You'll Need
Instructions
Choose a sunny and warm location for the jackfruit tree. Jackfruit trees prefer humid or tropical climates. In particular, southern Georgia offers moist and warm weather patterns that benefit the trees' overall lifetime growth.
Dig a hole into the soil with a garden shovel. The roots of the jackfruit tree grow deeply, so plant the young tree or seed deeply into the soil. Keep the soil loose to allow the trees' offshoots and roots to move easily through the ground.
Place the jackfruit tree or seed into the hole. Cover the tree or seed loosely with soil, using the garden shovel. Loose soil will provide the needed drainage pathways for rainwater or garden watering. Water the tree and surrounding soil. Make sure to water the jackfruit tree frequently since the plant does not tolerate dry soil well.
Cover the jackfruit tree with a tarp or plastic if frost threatens the Georgia area during the winter. This fruit tree will not tolerate freezing temperatures and can easily die if exposed to the cold..
